The FBI has decided to revisit the 1999 murders of two Staten Island drug dealers who allegedly robbed family members of two founding members of the Wu-Tang Clan according to a Brooklyn Federal Court Filing. These allegations come from the convictions of two drug kingpins who are brothers Anthony and Harvey Christian. The Christian brothers were found guilty of running a drug empire on Staten Island for over 20 years and the murder of Jerome “Boo Boo” Estella in 1999. The brothers are still waiting to be sentenced.
The attorney, Michael Gold has demanded that the prosecutors tell all the details about the death of Estella which includes an informant’s allegations that Staten Island natives and Wu-Tang founders RZA aka Robert Fitgerald and Raekwon aka Corey Woods may have had some involvement in the bloody murders. Since the murders in 1999 neither RZA or Raekwon have been charged in either murder.
In the papers filed last month, Assistant US Attorney Allon Lifshitz stated that the relevant information has already been provided prior to the trial and includes several passages from the FBI files to back up his claim.
The documents were first reported by the Staten Island Advance on Tuesday.
These excerpts came from interviews with an informant named Brian Humphreys who is also the man who shot Estella suggest that the dealer had robbed RZA relative. A couple of weeks before the shooting of Boo Boo Estella an informant named Paul Ford aka Uncles told Humphreys about a blood named Boo Boo who had just come home from jail. He also said that Boo Boo had robbed RZA’s little brother and had also gotten into something with the Christian brothers, the excepts reads.
Uncles was talking about Boo Boo and said that he had just came home and robbed RZA’s little brother and that they would likely come after him for that. Humphreys believes Uncles was referring to the two Wu-Tang members.
Another passage states a conversation between Humphreys, Ford and Anthony Christian, in which Raekwon’s name pops up in relation to the death of Corey “Shank Bank” Brooker anothe Staten Island dealer. Ford claimed that Brooker, who was shot to death in June 1999, had shaken down RZA’s brother and Raekwon’s cousin and RZA put up 30k to have him killed according to the filing.
Ford states that he previously heard that Shank Bank was killed by Phife. Ford believes that Phife collected the mney frm RZA for the execution, according to the excerpts provided in the filing, which doesn’t identify Phife.
In this passage, Ford states that Brooker who died after the Estella murder, was murdered by a person hired by RZA allegedly a Wu_Tang associate and that Estella may have been murdered as a result of a dispute between Brooker and RZA, Lifshitz wrote in his filing.
Brooker’s case remains unsolved. Prosecutors contend that any purported Wu-Tang connection has no bearing on the Christian brothers’ guilt.
This sounds like one big movie to me with a lot 0f “he say she say”. I hope the truth will prove that RZA and Raekwon are not involved in this situation and we will be able to continue to receive great music from these hip hop legends.
