On-air host, producer, and writer, Georgette Pierre, is a force to be reckoned with. In 2003, she grabbed the attention of WNSB’s program director at her undergrad, Norfolk State University. Her distinctive voice and charisma sealed the deal, thus beginning her reins as an on-air personality. She continued her rise in radio at WERS 88.9 FM when she attended grad school at Emerson College in Boston. Since moving to New York in 2010, Georgette interned at NYU’s WNYC Radio in addition to writing for various outlets including Entertainment Weekly, Blavity, MTV News, VH1, and music site, KillerBoombox (KBX).
Her 10+ year broadcast history led her to executive produce and host her first internet radio show called Off the Record, co-host and produce a nationally syndicated morning show that was on iHeartRadio, co-host and produce a podcast called Venting and Vino, create two seasons of a relationship-themed web series on YouTube called #DearGeorgette (that was featured in two film festivals, NYC Web Fest and the Hollywood Black Film Festival), produce and host an intimate interview series dropping this year, and produce and star in her first scripted web series that’s currently in post, while working full time in TV production.
Taking her efforts to Miami, she’s now a radio personality for WEDR 99 Jamz under the name Georgette Starr. You can listen to her Mondays-Fridays from 6-9 am EST as the local talent for the Rickey Smiley Morning Show and Sundays from 12-4 pm EST.
You can also love up on her new podcast called Black + Nuanced on Soundcloud, Spotify, or your favorite podcast app. When she’s not working, you can find Georgette excerpting her life on Twitter and Instagram.
