Tariq Nasheed is a New York Times best-selling author, documentary film producer, media personality,radio host, relationship expert, and social commentator, focusing on the psychology of dating and African-American social history.
Nasheed’s books on dating and relationships include The Mack Within, The Elite Way, and The Art of Mackin’. Nasheed has also authored two advice books for female readers: Play or Be Played: What Every Female Should Know About Men, Dating, and Relationships and The Art of Gold Digging.
His television appearances include Fox News, CNN, HLN, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, and several shows for MTV and VH1.
Nasheed has also been a regular speaker on college campuses and lecture circuits on the topics of relationships and race.
Nasheed produced the 2011 documentary film Hidden Colors, on the history of African and aboriginal peoples. The film had a limited theatrical release around the United States before being made available on DVD. Nasheed’s follow-up film and DVD, Hidden Colors 2: The Triumph of Melanin, was released in 2012.
In 2013, Nasheed released the horror film The Eugenist, which he also wrote and directed.
In 2014, Nasheed released Hidden Colors 3, and Hidden Colors 4 is set to be released on May 26th 2016. Nasheed also released a video game app entitled Moorish Kingdom in February 2016, and he has developed a new social networking app called MoorUs that will be centered around Black empowerment.
Nasheed also has a non-profit organization called Melanoid Nation that was established to allocate resources for African centered education and Black business development.
