32 Years after the release of The Message, Melle Mel and Scorpio along with the other members of the Furious Five decided to remake the video for their Hip-Hop classic. In this video you will see they have taken some shots at their former DJ Grandmaster Flash, stating that Grandmaster Flash had no involvement in putting the group together nor did he have anything to do with the recordings of the groups music.
You will see in this video that there attorney said a judge ruled in their favor that flash was not a founder of the group, producer on any record and did not write any songs. The judge ruled in Melle Mel and Scorpios favor granted the right to use the name Grandmaster Flash and The Furious 5 and it’s likeness to receive all royalties, tour and to continue to make music of the groups original name. The moral victory for Melle Mel and Scorpio has allowed the group to remake the video for their classic, check it out below.
Melle Mel and Scorpio also make claims they are responsible for Flash being inducted into the Hall Of Fame, which they feel Flash should be thank them for making him apart of music history. This seems to be stemming from Grandmaster Flash owning the rights to the name of the group and collecting all royalties from the music sold and tours.
